Hires who show up

Hires who show upfor the interviewand for day one.

Applicants get a text from your business within a minute, pick their own interview time and get reminders right up to their first morning. You hear early about the ones who go quiet.

Price: Quote. Works for any business that hires. It runs on its own, or we add it to Every Quote Chased or Phones Off the Counter.

Birchline FenceText message to an applicant

You post the job. Then you chase the people who applied.

The time goes to calling back, leaving voicemails and finding out at 7am that the new guy isn't coming.

Each applicant gets a text right away and books their own time. Reminders ask for a 1 or a 2, so you know who's coming before you drive to the yard.

Texts can't make someone stay. They do get day one confirmed, so you aren't the one finding out in the driveway.

I get thirty applicants and can't call any of them back until 9 at night.

They hear from you while they're still looking at your post.

Half of them don't pick up when I call back.

Texts get read. A booking link means nobody has to catch you on the phone.

I drove in at 7 and nobody was there.

The night before, they reply 1. If they don't, your phone tells you that evening.

The first two are from public Reddit posts by owners, with the thread named. The other three are our own description of how hiring tends to go. None are quotes from clients.

What it does, step by step

From a job post to a crew member at the yard.

We set it up and keep it running. You still do the interviews and make every hiring call.

    • We write the job post with you.Pay, hours, where the work is, what a normal day looks like. You post it on the boards you already use, with a link to your careers page.
    • A careers page with a short form.On your site, or a simple page we host. Name, phone, email, the job questions you pick (a driver's license, if the job needs one) and a box to say yes to texts.
    • A text back within a minute. From your business name, with a link to pick an interview time from the slots you set. Anyone who didn't say yes to texts gets the same note by email.
    • Two nudges for the ones who don't book. One the next day and a last one two days later. After that they hear nothing more about the job.
    • A reminder the morning of the interview.Reply 1 to confirm, 2 to move it. If there's no reply by noon, your phone gets a heads-up while there's still time to fill the slot.
    • Day one gets confirmed. You tap Hired and they get where, when and what to bring, then a reminder the night before. You get a note when they confirm, or when they don't.
    • One board for every applicant.Who applied, who's booked, who's flagged and who's closed out. Hiring gets its own line in your monthly report.
    Try it

        This week so far

        • Applied 0
        • Booked an interview 0
        • Showed up to the interview 0
        • Hired 0
        • Showed up for day one 0
        • Heads-ups sent to your phone 0

Moving someone to Interviewed, Hired or Passed is always your tap. The texts, nudges and heads-ups run on their own.

        Who it's for.

Any business that hires a few times a year and loses people between the application and day one. Trades crews and auto shops most of all.

        A good fit if

        • You hire crew members, helpers, techs or drivers a few times a year or more.
        • Applicants come from Indeed, Craigslist, Facebook or word of mouth, and you call them back yourself.
        • You do interviews between jobs, from the truck or at the yard.
        • You've had people skip the interview or skip day one, and found out too late to call the next person.

        Probably not if

        • You hire one person every couple of years. Texting them yourself works fine.
        • A staffing agency finds and schedules people for you.
        • You already use hiring software that texts applicants and books interviews. We check in the audit and tell you to keep it.

        Who it's built for.

        • The job details. Pay, hours, where, and what the work is. We turn it into the post.
        • Interview times. The days and hours you can meet people. They book into those.
        • Your cell number. Heads-ups about no-replies and new bookings go there.
        • Day-one details. Where to show up, what time and what to bring.
        • A spot for the form. A page on your site, or one we host. We add the yes-to-texts box.
        • Your job board accounts. You post from your own accounts. We give you the text and the link.
        Your numbers in, example out

What fewer no-shows could give back.

Mostly it's your time: the drive, the wait, the re-post, the calls. Day-one no-shows also cost a crew day. Put in your own numbers and keep the turnaround guess low.

        Try a sample example
Count the ones booked, not the applications.
If 3 out of every 10 never come, put 30. Think back over the last few you set up.
People you hired who never showed up for the first shift.
Your guess at how many would confirm, rebook or tell you early. Start low. We don't have a rate to give you.
The drive, the wait, re-posting the job and calling the next person.
A crew short, a job pushed back, overtime for the rest. Your best guess.
        Example hours back a year

        0 hours

        • Interview no-shows a year 0
        • Turned around by reminders 0
        • Day-one no-shows turned around 0
        • Example gross profit kept a year $0

        Text Chase these numbers

A no-show only counts as turned around if the person confirmed, rebooked or told you ahead of time after one of our texts. People who would have shown up anyway aren't counted, and neither is whether the hire works out.

        What it won't do.

So you know before the audit.

        • We don't pick who you hire. You interview and you decide. Nobody moves to Hired or Passed until you tap it.
        • Some people still won't show.Reminders catch the ones who forgot or need a new time, and warn you early about the rest. They can't make someone want the job.
        • It doesn't make people apply. If nobody applies, the post or the pay needs work. We help with the post. We don't run job board ads.
        • Background checks and paperwork stay with you.Drug tests and new-hire forms too, with you and your payroll company. The day-one text can remind them to bring an ID.
        • No texts to people who didn't say yes.Applicants who didn't check the box get email. We don't cold text anyone, and an AI never calls.
        • Job questions only. The form asks what you need for the job, like a license or a start date. We don't add questions about age, family or health. Hiring-law questions go to your lawyer or HR person.

        The terms, in plain words.

        • 3 months, then month to month. No auto-renew term. After the first three months, cancel by text and it runs to the end of the month you've paid for, then stops.
        • You own your contacts and your number. If you leave, you get a contacts file and your number ported to you, applicant list included. It's all written into the agreement.
        • Live about a week after text approval.Phone carriers approve business texting first, and they set that timing. Once they do, we're usually live about a week later.
        • Priced from your numbers after the free audit. We price it from how often you hire and what you already use, so the page reads Quote.

        Fair questions.

Does it post my job on Indeed for me?

You post from your own job board accounts. We write the post with you and give you the link to your careers page, so every applicant lands in the same place.

Will applicants know the texts are automatic?

The texts come from your business name and read like a short note from you. They're set messages, not an AI chat. Replies of 1, 2 or STOP are handled for you. Anything else comes straight to your phone.

Is it OK to text people who applied?

We only text applicants who checked the yes-to-texts box on your form. Everyone else gets email. Texts go out during set daytime hours, and STOP ends them right away.

What if they need to move the interview?

They reply 2 and get the booking link again. Your phone gets a note with the new time, and the old slot opens back up.

Can the form screen people out?

It can ask the job questions you choose, like a driver's license or a start date, and show you the answers on the board. You decide who gets an interview. We keep questions about age, family and health off the form.

        What does it cost?

It's quoted because I put together the best setup for each business, based on its size and what it actually needs. I price it after the free audit, from how often you hire and what you already use. Website plans are separate and listed on the main site.
